Review of The Beaver (2011) by Dina B — 03 Jun 2012
I put off watching this one for a while because it seemed very depressing and the whole premise was a bit too odd for me to comprehend but actually I realized later that this oddness is what made it a lot more compelling.
An utterly unbelievable performance by Gibson and very impressive direction by Foster.
The Beaver tackles mental illness with an original and unconventional approach creating such a strong impact on the viewer. It steered me to think about some things from a whole new angle and I'm thankful to have eventually given it a shot.
