Review of The Beat Beneath My Feet (2014) by Sophia W — 27 Oct 2016
I really enjoyed watching "The Beat Beneath My Feet"! This rock n' roll indie comes from first-time director John Williams and features a talented cast that includes "Beverly Hills 90210" bad boy Luke Perry and rising British star Nicholas Galitzine.
Nicholas Galtzine plays Tom, an awkward high school teenager who deals with the pressures of being bullied at school. When Tom discovers that his rowdy new neighbor Steve, played by Luke Perry, is actually a former rock star, he coerces him into teaching him how to play guitar.
With the help of music, this unlikely duo forms a strong relationship that helps both of them overcome personal struggles. I thought it was an empowering film that sends a positive message to its viewers in a fun, entertaining way.
I highly recommend it to all teens and young adults.
