Review of The Beastmaster (1982) by Mary Lu A — 28 Dec 2008
We watch this movie for the ferrets as much as anything else. It's good action, though. Please don't think too deeply on the acting. Marc Singer. Got to love him in a loin cloth, but he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
And Tonya Roberts fighting off bad guys? She's thinner then Keira Knightley on a bad day and lacks any sense of muscle tone anywhere! But John Amos also surprises for how buff he is in the loin cloth thing.
Who knew the Good Times dad could look so good? If I recall, this movie was made as a follow-up to the Conan the Barbarian flick? Now the woman in Conan was way hotter and more believable than Tonya Roberts.
Nice, light material here. My kids laughed every time Marc Singer did one of his bird calls. : ).
