Review of The Beach (2000) by Michael D — 26 Feb 2011

I first watched The Beach ages ago during Film4's sensational Danny Boyle week, and I found it insanely brilliant. A few months after that, I then read the book which I was completely blown away by (it's now my joint-favourite book of all time along with The Shining) and I thought that if I watched the film again right away, I would be appaled.

I left it a year or so and have just watched The Beach for the second time - it's still amazing. Both the book and the film are brilliant in their own way, just make sure you dont watch the movie fresh off the book or you probably will be insanely disappointed.
