Review of The Beach (2000) by Matt M — 11 Jan 2013

A young man in his twenties travels to Thailand where he meets a strange man that gives him a map to a deserted island. He convinces a French couple to travel with him to it, and they end up on a dangerous hidden paradise shared by a group of friendly inhabitants and drug dealers.

The lack of focus makes this film a real test to sit through, but this being a Danny Boyle film the cinematography and visuals are still impressive.
