Review of The Bay (2012) by Bracken M — 20 Jun 2013
There are a lot of found footage gems that have popped up since the genre became popular with the highly successful Paranormal Activity series. This is one of those few gems. This horror mockumentary looks at an incident surrounding the event of Clairidge Maine July 4th 2009.
The film essentially follows four stories surrounding the event, each one ending in tragedy. While the film follows a flimsy plot it is ultimately a satisfying story. The effects and gore are truly worthy for any gore hound, but be warned all this takes a back seat to the films obvious allegory.
While this movie will sometimes feel preachy it is ultimately a well worth the 1 hr 25 min pandemic/monster movies.
