Review of The Bay (2012) by Nicole H — 08 Dec 2013
A terminally underwhelming film which leaves so much to the imagination that's its practically a non-entity. It's a horror film and while there are a few gruesome moments and one jump scare only scant seconds before the ending - there's nothing of a horror film about it.
It utilizes an overdone found footage style and doesn't do anything new with it. It may ask some smart questions but not in a way that engages. I suppose that's it's major crime, it's a decidedly boring horror film that never draws you in.
If only critics would realise it's about entertainment as well as style.
