Review of The Battleship Island (2017) by Benjamin%20 K — 08 Sep 2017
Emotionally moving of the Japanese colonial period in Korea, Battleship Island shows the horrors of Korean forced laborers in the coalmines of Hashima Island in Japan. The film is incredibly emotional, and moving but unfortunately the plot line at the end was unfocused.
There was also some historical inaccuracies, since there was some fictionalized events such as the escape that while effective for dramatic purposes, did not reflect reality. However all in all the film was effective in showing the horrors and abuses of Koreans during the Japanese colonial period.
