Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Addison B — 13 Feb 2008
Excellent performances from Lenardo Dicaprio as well as Mark Wahlberg.
This movie is dark, based on the book of the same name, it is essentially a memoire of the life of Jim Carroll.
This movie deals with intense violence, sexuality, drug addiction and usage and general dickery.
It's good but the fact that it's all based on truth kind of made me like it less. Everyone gave great performances though, it's not to say anything different.
Just maybe a little too unsettling, the everyday moviegoer might find themselves walking out on it.
Great film, lots of amaing actors and some very intense and disturbing scenes.
I'd recommend it, definitely chck it out.
