Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Jairo G — 12 Mar 2009
Before "Trainspotting" came "The Basketball Diaries". "Diaries" does without the style of "Trainspotting" and goes more down the gritty, dark and real route when telling the story of heroin addiction.
It's not very pleasant to watch but it's very well put together with strong performances all round. I actually watched this for the first time just after "Titanic" came out and it made me realise that Leonardo di Caprio is actually a good actor.
