Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Mariana L — 21 Feb 2010

For the first time, this was a film I enjoyed more than the movie. I suspect that I read the book at too young an age, though, before I could really understand a lot of it. While I was never a part of the drug-usin crowd in NYC, I knew plenty who were, so watching the movie now, in my 20s, I could understand and relate to it much better -- in fact, this one's made me interested in giving the book another go.
