Review of The Basketball Diaries (1995) by Simon B — 30 Apr 2012

A powerful & DARK film about drug addiction, everything starts off pretty standard and happy, we see 4 close friends being normal young lads then BAM, HEROIN FUCKS SHIT UP!!!!!! and the films gets rapidly dark and raw, this films shows that DiCaprio was a BRILLIANT actor from a very young age as was Mark Wahlberg, the only downside was the style in which it was filmed, very amateur looking with lots of straight cuts from scene to scene that ruin the flow of the film, nonetheless VERY good.
