Intense and intoxicating, The Basketball Diaries tells the story of Jim Carroll, a would-be basketball superstar who throws everything away due to drug addiction. Eventually, he redeems himself and gets rehabilitated, albeit not without help.
DiCaprio is great in the lead role and the movie itself is pretty good. Very underrated.
