Review of The Barefoot Contessa (1954) by Robynne T — 04 Jun 2007
I liked this MUCH better than Cassablanca. I think that this is one of the most underrated, underappreciated films of all time! Ava Gardner is wonderful as a beautiful starlet who can have anything she wants, except the love she desperatley desires and Humphrey Bogart gives a stellar performance as her all admiring agent.
Do NOT pass this film up...the ending will leave you in such tears, you wont remember Cassablanca at all!
