Review of The Barber Shop (1933) by David K — 01 Sep 2009
This was a great short film from W.C. Fields. In it, the famed comedian plays a gossiping barber who is trying to survive, but also better the society he finds himself in. Through his quirky and witty dialogue, Fields really fits his part as the zany shop owner.
It's not exactly a pivotal film, but "The Barber Shop" does show hints of Fields' future film, "The Bank Dick." Nevertheless, this movie is really funny and definitely worth a look.
