Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: 4/5.

I haven't seen a LA based crime movie in a while and I must say that this was well worth the time spent watching it. It starts with the story of a thief who mistakingly gets taken on for a film when he stumbles into an audition room running from the cops. While he is in Hollywood he experiences a murder and learns of a possible second one that hits close to home. The film then delves into solving the crime and the usual. What makes this movie so great is the chemistry between the lead actors. Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr do so well together. They never truly become friends but still have a good working relationship. Bridget Monaghan is also very good in her role and portrays the emotions she has to as well as she can. She and RDJ have a love one minute hate the next kind of thing going on also. The relationships are solid and the story is good so how does it all fair by the end? Marvelously if I might add. It is able to slowly feed us information so we can help solve it ourselves. The breaking of the fourth wall is also something that isn't distracting or doesn't ruin the film. A few funny moments with Val Kilmer showing his gay side rampantly and something with Robert Downey Jr's finger. Un top of good humor, writing and acting I must say the directing is pretty good also especially compared to Shane Black's work Iron Man 3. All in all it's a good comedy film noir and I would suggest it.
