Review of The Band's Visit (2007) by Kayvon P — 16 Aug 2009

This foreign film follows the Egyptian military classical music band as they get lost in Israel while trying to find their venue and is both entertaining and funny for sure. I think to truly enjoy this film you have to have a Middle Eastern background but many of the moments are touching regardless.

The acting is great and although the plot is slow at times, I was engaged and entertained throughout. The happy ending with beautiful music was a great finish to this film which had some great laughs and some really profound messages of unity within the region as well.
