Review of The Band's Visit (2007) by Jessica R — 25 Sep 2008
A band gets stuck in the middle of a town where nothing much happens and finds kindness from strangers. The band leader, most likely the eldest one, is so uptight, strict and ridiculously polite while the youngest of the band is still a childish and hopeless romantic.
The film's slow pace, the characters' dull yet priceless facial experessions and the awkward moments, especially the ones in the skate dancing place, make the film seem like a foreign version of the film Napoleon Dynamite.
