Review of The Ballad of Lefty Brown (2017) by Victor L — 15 Nov 2017
Saw this at AFI Fest. Despite an honest performance by Bill Pullman that stayed true to the character, the film suffered from terrible dialogue writing. I'm not sure the acting had a chance though with the amount of cliché, masterbatory, actor's agent bait scenes sprinkled throughout the film.
The Q&A afterward even revealed that most of the talent really just wanted to be in a western and it showed pretty grotesquely throughout the film. But hey, they shot in Montana and had a lot of wide shots.
