Another wonderful Kirk Douglas performance! Reveled as one of the best films about the movie industry, rumor has it Douglas' manipulative, scheming producer Jonathan Shields is based on a real Hollywood producer from the 50s.
Movie buffs will have a fun time trying to guess who it is - David O. Selznick perhaps? Made up of three separate stories of people Shields has betrayed, "Beautiful" is a fantastic character profile.
