Review of The Back-Up Plan (2010) by Jc S — 27 Jul 2011
The most faithful interpretation of childbirth in the worst way imaginable. Jennifer Lopez stars as Zoe, a woman who wants to get pregant with children, but hasn't found the right man in her life. She undergoes artificial insemination, but the worst happens; she meets a guy, and falls in love with him.
The script is cliche, the acting is passable, but the worst aspect by far is how unrealistic, unfunny, and manipulative this film really is. Does it make any sense that a pregnant woman is talking calmly to someone WHEN HER WATER BROKE? Or her pigging out on oddly-coiced foods when it is only her second-day pregnant in her first trimester? Don't even ask me how she uses her best friend as a pillow.
Easily one of the worst movies of the year, but isn't even nominated at the Raspberry awards this time of year. It should be.
