Review of The Babysitters (2008) by Sean C — 23 Jan 2010
I streamed this from Netflix so I wasn't expecting much and I got just that. This movie about teenage girls setting up a hooker service for suburban family men called "The Babysitters" is very poorly done.
The biggest problem that I had with this movie is that it all just seem too unreal. A bunch of girls get into doing this and almost none of them seem to have any problem with it at all. Since I could not believe that this 'babysitting' sex service could get so many girls involved so quickly and from the same school, the movie sort of lost me from the beginning.
The funny part is the girl that starts it all, who even had business cards made up, has the personality of a door knob and seems like she would never in a million years do this, let alone organize it all. I don't know, I guess sometimes its the quiet ones that are craziest but I just didn't buy it. The acting was poor to mediocre all around, the story was very hard to believe, the execution was boring and the ending was very anti-climactic (no pun intended lol) and just bad, like the movie in general.
