Review of The Babadook (2014) by Urbanlistener — 22 Nov 2015
For me, this is the best horror film of all time. This horror movie is juste perfect in every way. When you first look at it, it is really frightening, creepy and unsettling. This movie will give you some serious goosebumps and make your hands sweaty.
From start to finish, there is tension, suspense and an eerie sensation. But when you dig deeper, this movie is not only about being scared the hell out, it is also a movie about grief, about the emotions you feel when you loose someone you love and how it affects your life.
Some people may not understand the ending, but that's because they only see the movie as an horror film, if you look at the ending in the second optic I just described, it's brilliant and perfect. Now to insist on how good it is, there is some other good points about the movie; it incredibly well acted, the use of CGI is extremely limited and there is not a single jumpscare, no cheap loud sounds like in terrible films like Ouija or The gallows.
If you are a fan of horror films or just good movies in general, this is a must-see and must-own.
