Don't waste your money. until the allegedly scary thing appears, the film's quite good. if the story just stuck with the mother unraveling over the stress of having a strange child, it would've had this chilling, claustrophic effect.
the babadook brings on histrionic acting and tired horror tropes. the pop up book was creepier than its subject.
