Review of The Babadook (2014) by Charles D — 10 Jun 2015
3 stars on a horror film is pretty high for me as I generally avoid them. This one was pretty good - no gratuitous gore or torture scenes and the underlying message about motherhood and confront/coping with inner feelings was delivered in a fascinating way.
the bad guy and magician father seemed a bit like tacked-on horror-movie gimmicks that weren't essential to the story, and poorly developed. the acting was top notch.
