Review of The Babadook (2014) by Calvin C — 13 Aug 2015
More psychological thriller than horror, the movie still is creepy and terrifying in its slow, quiet way. The entire time, you just have this unsettling feeling and I love how the film isn't really about the monster, but the mom and her son struggling to cope with their dread. Sometimes the scariest movies don't need the big jump scares or gore to make you close your eyes.
Grade: A-.
