Review of The Babadook (2014) by Jonny C — 07 Sep 2015
With a stunning central performance by Essie Davis and one of the best creatures in a horror film since the heyday of horror this is one of the best horror films of all time and is certainly the best since the 80's.
It also looks great, the sound effects are brilliant, it is way more about the mother and son relationship than just the supernatural elements, it is scary but doesn't rely on cheap scares or excessive gore and plays on real life fears.
It is hard to put into precise words how good this film is, just watch it.
