Review of The Babadook (2014) by Tyler A — 30 Jul 2015
One of the best horror/suspense films I have ever seen. Australia...who knew?
Great atmosphere. Powerful direction. Some extremely unsettling imagery. Creepy production design. A wonderful build-up of suspense and terror throughout. A truly haunting 'monster.' Not to mention a couple of fantastic performances by Essie Davis and Noah Wiseman as mother and son. Most notably, like all the best movies of this ilk, The Babadook has some really deep, emotionally resonant themes underpinning the horror of its villain. Good stuff!
