Review of The Babadook (2014) by Christopher G — 19 Jul 2018

I'm no fan of horror movies, and this film neither impressed nor converted me.

First of all: It wasn't remotely scary, never mind horrifying. The mom-protagonist didn't resonate with me, falling flat with a single-dimensional "I MUST PROTECT MY BABY!" motive, but I'm a 24-year old single dude posting his opinions that nobody will read on this website, so maybe that's not a legitimate criticism.

Regardless, I was not entertained at any point during this film. It gets two stars because this genre sets the bar standard that low.

Edit: But the Harvard College alumna I watched this with LOVED IT, so there's that?
