Review of The Awful Truth (1937) by Sanity Assassin ! — 19 Jan 2008
Irene dunne and cary grant were superb together with their on screen antics, a lil' bit of slapstick with plently of witty remarks and direction, the casting excellent and the acting... (you couldn't have asked for more) leave you unable to peel your eyes from the screen.
in the right film cary grant is great. ah ha... and you can tell why the slapstick parts were done to such justice as leo mccarey was the director of the marx brothers duck soup. ralph bellamy and joyce compton were also very watchable.
