Review of The Awful Truth (1937) by James L — 12 Feb 2009
Archie Leach becomes Cary Grant here, and McCarey wins an Oscar. A "remarriage" vehicle; light comedy with winsome dialogue. Perhaps better done in Sturges' "Palm Beach Story," but lines like "if you get bored in Oklahoma City, you can always go over to Tulsa for the weekend!" still tickle like hell.
