Review of The Awakening (2011) by Alison O — 19 Apr 2013
I find that the best horror films unnerve by suggestion rather than gore and this British effort is one of the most impressive homegrown offerings of recent years. Set in the 1920s it's about supernatural happenings at a remote boarding school after the arrival of an author at the establishment to investigate accounts of otherwordly spirits.
