Review of The Awakening (1980) by Allan C — 20 Oct 2017
Charlton Heston stars in this Exorcist/Omen knock-off. Chuck plays an archeologist who unearths a mummy, only to find 20 years later that his daughter has become possessed by said mummy. Much like Gregory Peck in "The Omen," Chuck has to face the quandary of killing his child or saving humanity.
The difference between these two films is this one is incredibly dull, not at all scary, and borderline camp. It may have actually been more entertaining if it went full-camp. Mike Newell's directorial debut.
