Review of The Avengers (1998) by Lorenzo V — 02 May 2013
This movie was not as bad as many people say it was.There are many flaws in the movie, but it is still enjoyable, if not a little cheesy. First of all, the acting was subpar, except by Connery who does his best with the material.
The plot was pretty nonsensical. If Sir August de Wynter wanted people to pay for the weather from him, or he would keep making it colder, wouldn't he die as well of cold just like the others? The action was just okay as well.
On the flip side, the special effects were pretty good and the costumes and props weren't bad. Overall, an enjoyable cheesy flick that is let down by bad acting, terrible screenplay and only okay action.
