Review of The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) by Jon C — 27 Jun 2017
A grisly, creepy and disturbing work of a horror film.
Rather than subject to many of the tropes we know this film saves its best moments in the back of your mind.
A father and son at a morgue work to examine a woman, but as they dissect her further they find out some startling revelations about her condition.
What happened to her? who was she really? why does she look ok on the outside but torn up on the inside?
If the autopsy scenes don't freak you out then the twist at the end will send chills down your spine.
Every body has a secret, some are better at keeping them, and some are not for us.
I think this makes the whole examining the deceased that much more horrific.
Brian Cox and Emilie Hirsch are excellent together as father and son.
A short runtime but a lot of chills that screw with your mind on so many levels.
