Review of The Astronaut's Wife (1999) by Roni F — 31 May 2012
The suspension of disbelief is well hung by the fine performances of Depp and Theron, but the story should have been bolder in its attempt to horrify us. There is neither a message nor a meaningful explanation to the suspense that holds us waiting for the duration of the feature.
It's pointlessly exploitative and melodramatic. However, thanks to decent directing, it is undeniably entertaining, if you are in that sort of mood.
