Review of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007) by Justin S — 10 Feb 2013
Not for the audience looking for past-paced, plot-driven movies. In this beatifully-filmed character study of the outlaw and the coward, Casey Affleck is perfect, making the audience despise him from the opening scene; he is revolting and dirty in character, bordering on creepy.
Surprisingly, however, Brad Pitt does less than a stellar job depicting the troubled Jesse James. It is almost like he took acting lessons from Russell Crowe for this role.
