Doc (iSam Jaffe) is planning a jewel store robbery with Dix (Sterling Hayden), Gus ( James Whitmore) and Louis (Anthony Caruso). The jewels will be sold to lawyer/fence Lon Emmerich (Louis Calhern) who, nearly broke and planning a double cross, puts up a front with the help of his mistress Angela (Marilyn Monroe).
