Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Kevin N — 26 May 2010
This is a pretty good heist picture. The tone and mood of the film is excellent. However, it has too much dialogue in parts and you sort of get lost and confused about what's happening. However, the film gradually gets more suspenseful and just plain better.
I have to admit, I watched this film because it was one of Marilyn Monroe's first movies. Her part is small, but somewhat important. However, it's disgusting that she has a relationship with a man that's old enough to be her father, or even her grandfather.
But all in all, it's a fine film noir that you should check out sometime.
