Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Adrian B — 28 Nov 2010
Heist film in noir style. Well paced and plotted, the only problem with this movie is that the ending is predictable. A well-executed plan falls apart mostly because almost everyone involved has some (perhaps minor) character flaw.
Sam Jaffe's brilliant but unimpressive-looking Doc is the pick of the characters - the planner who wants to escape to Mexico to enjoy the "young and beautiful" women there.
