Review of The Asphalt Jungle (1950) by Indi V — 15 Apr 2011
Solid. There's definitely better noir films out there, but this one's solid. Sam Jaffe's performance as the German mastermind is quite good. You can never tell exactly what's going on in that head of his.
It's never dull, but the biggest problem is Sterling Hayden. He's fantastic in Dr. Strangelove, but in this movie he's so... lifeless. I don't understand it.
