Review of The Art of Getting By (2011) by Jen M — 21 Apr 2012
A clever and talented boy misses classes just before the graduation, doesn't excel on his painting classes in spite of his undisputed drawing skills, and fails to build his life after having experienced the existential shock and losing the meaning of life.
Everything could have changed if the girl he starts to date wasn't a mindless whore (a habit she took up after her mother). He falls in love but conceals his feelings resulting in her having sex with his friend.
That, of course leads to further disillusionment in life, but life gives him quite a kick in the butt, and he regains everything, including his libido. A visit to the zone of teenage despair, with no original thoughts, but altogether quite tolerably put.
