Review of The Art of Getting By (2011) by Alexandros L — 17 Dec 2011
Not sure why critics so universally panned it. It held my interest, I found the story moved at a decent pace and the falling in love was heartfelt. George's sense of purposelessness in life is something we have to struggle with at some point in our own lives.
We need to find meaning. He finds it in a lovely girl, a kindred spirit... which wakes him up to other things he cares about. There is conflict, struggle and challenge, and I appreciated it. Good production values, decent acting and characters who personify struggles we've all likely been through.
