Review of The Art of Getting By (2011) by Chris T — 07 May 2012
A movie that is trying too hard to seem like it is not trying at all. Overwritten to the point of plot clichà (C)s, expertly crafted indie music soundtrack, with half the film as a Woody Allen Manhattan-like reminiscence on the beauty of city â" the skyline, the Hudson river, the Brooklyn bridge â" foiled by awkward acting and empty fourtun cookie slogans (âYou can do anythingâ?) that donâ(TM)t match the tone of the rest of the film.
