Review of The Arrival (1996) by Shelagh B — 09 May 2009
2: Quite entertaining, although still obviously a second tier picture. The effects have actually held up surprisingly well over the years. Sheen carries the picture nicely although it doesn't reach the scope one hopes for.
Contact is a far better example of an aliens picture from the era. Entertaining, but nothing more. Brings up the issue of global warming earlier than most major Hollywood productions too.
