Review of The Aristocrats (2005) by Cheryl R — 13 Jan 2008
This movie is only for the hardest core stand-up fan or the sickest sicko in Sicktown. The joke, "A man walks into an talent agent's office..." is told to commedians by commedians as a total pissing match of who can go the lowest of the low.
Because of that, I can see where a lot of it wouldn't be very entertaining for a large audience. What it does show, loud and clear,is that the world or stand up is a fraternity. I'm not at all prudish about comedy, but I'm kind of worried about the female comics who felt they had to be in the film, no matter how uncomfortable they were with the joke (Sarah Silverman not withstanding!) They weren't all uncomfortable, but some of them seemed like little sisters trying to hang with her big brother's friends.
