Review of The Aristocats (1970) by Blais E — 13 Dec 2010
The first Disney animated film released after Uncle Walt's death & with none of his personal involvement (And every bit as good as his prior releases), this is an extremely enjoyable tale with some great music, & as usual, superior voice talent.
A female cat & her three kittens are kidnapped by the greedy butler of a wealthy dowager, after he finds out she has left them a large inheritance in her will. Enter roguish O'Malley, the alley-cat (The great Phil Harris in his second voice-role for Disney-), to come to their rescue, with the aid of Trumpet-playing Scat-Cat (The wonderfully jazzy Scatman Crothers-) & his jammin' cat-band.
Great animation as usual, with lovable & now-iconic characters.
