Review of The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975) by Roy C — 21 May 2010
Magnolia! Three swindler children (Celia, Clovis, and Bobby) strike it rich in Quake City under the care of gambler Mr. Donovan, while two robber stooges steal a fire ladder and manipulate a mule-powered crane to reach the roof of the bank housing the orphans' gold. Amidst their would-be father's arrangements with new mother Dusty, who share the shortest interval between marriage and divorce, the kids ask the same crooks to try pinching their poke a second time so it does not fall into the hands of their greedy uncle, unaware a bad-legged bandit disguised as a reverend has similar plans. The payoff: the whole town joins in on the gunfight and leads the getaway wagon downriver.
Donovan: 'Can we talk to you?'.
Homer: 'As barber, sheriff, or Justice of the Peace?'.
