Review of The Apple (1998) by Private U — 15 Jun 2008
'The Apple' is the stupendous story of two isolated Iranian girls. The plot is thin, but concentrates on the day-to-day life of these two children as they manage to find a place for themselves in modern-day Iran.
This film transcends any cheap statement about religion and culture. Images that will stay with you are those of their saddening father, and their mute and blind mother. A sensational film.
