Review of The Apartment (1960) by Ian R — 11 Aug 2010
It's hard not to relate to Lemmon or Maclaine, as they are essentially as fundamentally human as possible. The unfortunate Lemmon who despite being extremely generous finds himself initially rising up the ranks in his job due to this, at the cost of being with the girl he loves.
In the end however, his good-will pays off and that is perhaps the key message of the movie.
